Today is a momentous day. We signed a contract on a house today. Although we don’t close till the end of the month, this should mean that Erin and I will be in our new house by next month (August)!

We looked at a few more houses today and learning a lot about our tastes! House hunting really doesn’t seem that hard. We’ve been able to stay organized and do fairly thorough searches. It is strange how we seem to “stumble” onto the best ones instead of finding them on the Internet searches.

Erin and I went around Huntsville, actually Madison, looking to see how much houses cost. We found LOTS of houses out of our price range but found a few neighborhoods that would be suitable for us. One of the biggest problems was the abundance of “cookie cutter” houses. In these neighborhoods there are houses right next to each other that are identical (YUCK).

After doing a lot of searching we’re still attracted to a neighborhood called Hunter’s Crossing. The houses are all unique and about 5-15 years old. They are about 1500-2300 square feet. I’ve attached an example of one of the houses we looked at.
