Anti-microsoft Spam

September 10th, 2005

I got an email (spam) today that was anti-microsoft. While that may be a good thing, there was something very eerie at the bottom.

[SPAMIS NOTIFICATION]:

Fully “READY” to Begin Increasing Public Service Announcement

Emails to 20 Times the Amount of Internet Users by 25 Times the

Current Sending Rate & Speed When a Certain Activity Transpires.

[CURRENTLY IN WAITING FOR THIS ACTIVITY TO TRANSPIRE]

What does that mean? It sounds like a warning hintng that a group of spammer hackers has some plan that once unleashed would give them some method of sending much more spam than they do now. Since they refere to their own spam as “Public Service Announcement”s then perhaps that is what they plan to do with this ability. I wonder what they are talking about. As most people assume that the virus writers are intangled with the spammers, perhaps it is a warning of a new worm.

My Birthday!

August 4th, 2005

I know you are all very concerned about what to get me for my birthday. Well, I normally wouldn’t do this except that I want to ease your minds :-) For anyone wondering what I might want I’ll share a few things with you. Just as a warning, none of it is cheap!

A case for a TV computer ($44) would be nice. That case would go great with a wireless keyboard ($32). There is also fictional geek book that I want to read ($33). That book would go great with the other fictional geek book that goes along with it ($33). For anyone who really wants to please me, an AGP nvidia 6600GT video card ($160) would surely do the trick getting Unreal 2004 to play at 1280×1024!

For anyone who wants to let me scratch something off of my dream list, I have some ideas for you also! I’ve been wanting a specific new digital camera for a few years now. Of course, a 50mm fixed lens ($75) would take great portraits of Tru. For anything else, a 100-300mm ($280) would be very sweet. Even if I didn’t get a camera, if I were to get a lens then Erin would have to let me save up for one! No dream list would be perfect without a new NSX ($92,000).

Please use Skype

July 31st, 2005

For anyone who doesn’t know, you should try out Skype. Basically, it is like instant messenger but with voice chat in addition to text chat. The only way it will be usefull to us is if the people that we want to talk to are actually on it. Please download it and try it out. You can search for us by name to add us to your list.

What makes it much more unique than just what I stated before is that it actually works! Most Internet applications like this that I have tried don’t work well. This is an exception. I’ve tried it on 3 computers in my house and it works great on all of them. No messy manual configuration or anything.

Talk to you soon (on Skype).

Sleepy Girl

May 23rd, 2005

Tru was so tired today after meeting daddy for lunch that she fell asleep on my arm while I was typing on the computer!
